I invite you to read a preview of The Dance of the Heart: Resting in God’s Embrace.
I hope you enjoy!
On a Child Born in a Drowned World
reciprocating lapses of affection
mirrored vacancies of love
abyss formed in their eyes
clouding their vision blackly
scraping screams penetrating soft drums
saliva gushing from swollen gums
sores and holes pocketing ghostly skin
craters of disease and addiction
wombs expressed in disgusting affliction
as formed flesh
that miracle
is twisted DNA and sickly fear
each day in the womb a child wracked
with daily tear
even unborn suffering constant humiliation
the rejection of DNA and maternal affection
replaced with chemical addiction
their innocent flesh bears the affliction
those tender buds of neurons torn and brutalized
till one day they emerge from their rotten cocoon
and scream and scream and scream
and they refuse to be comforted by those distorted
monsters
yet
there is still hope to be found
in the comforting embrace
of your Heavenly Father
who will remake you finer
than the choicest silver
or gold powder
